On the occasion of his birth anniversary, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid floral homage to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee at the ‘Sadaiv Atal’ memorial.
The late Atal Bihari Vajpayee, a former Prime Minister and important leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), was born on December 25.

“On behalf of all the family members of the country, I pay my profound respects to former Prime Minister respected Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji on his birth anniversary,” PM Modi wrote earlier in the day on X. Throughout his life, he was dedicated to expediting nation-building.”
Mr. Modi went on to say, “His dedication and service towards Mother India continues to be a source of inspiration even in his immortal age.”
According to PTI, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated that Atal Bihari Vajpayee demonstrated during his stint as Prime Minister of the country how stable administrations can be beneficial, and that tradition continues to this day.
Yogi described Atal Bihari Vajpayee as the ‘Ajat Shatru’ of politics, with extraordinary talents to function in both favorable and difficult conditions.
“It is also a wonderful coincidence that this year marks the centenary of the birth of Atal Bihari Vajpayee.” On December 25, 1924, he was born. There will be many programs throughout the year, and on December 25, 2024, we will be able to witness a huge celebration,” he stated. On the occasion, the Chief Minister also honored various individuals.
Vajpayee, known for his fluent speaking ability, played an important role in Indian politics.
Atal Bihari Vajpayee began his political career as a young member when he was elected to the Lok Sabha in 1957. His political career peaked in 1996, when he successfully led the BJP to its first general election win.
Notably, during his third term, Vajpayee led a stable government that served out its full term, a historic first for a non-Congress administration.
Known for his remarkable oratory and largely regarded as a competent politician and statesman, Vajpayee staged a strong return two years later after a brief 15-day reign in 1996. He went on to serve as the country’s top leader until 2004.
