In a bold move to position Andhra Pradesh as a technology hub, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has announced plans to build an iconic Deep Technology Building in Amaravati. This initiative, part of the state’s ambitious new IT policy, is designed to foster growth in Deep Tech and Artificial Intelligence (AI). CM Naidu, inspired by the success of Hyderabad’s HiTec City, aims to make Amaravati the epicenter of cutting-edge technologies that will drive economic growth and job creation.
CM Naidu’s IT Vision:
- Five-Lakh Workstations by 2029: Naidu’s goal is to establish 5 lakh workstations by 2029, scaling up to 10 lakh by 2034. This move will not only create significant employment opportunities but will also enhance skill development across the state.
- Subsidized Co-Working Spaces and Office Complexes: The CM has directed officials to facilitate the creation of multi-storeyed office complexes and co-working spaces through a single-window system. These spaces will attract IT companies and startups, driving innovation and technology adoption in the state.
- Seed Funding for Startups: As part of the startup policy, the government will provide seed funding up to Rs 25 lakh to entrepreneurs from SCs, STs, BCs, minorities, and women. This initiative will empower underrepresented groups to thrive in the tech ecosystem.
- Innovation Hubs and Collaboration with IITs: The creation of five innovation hubs, linked with the Ratan Tata Innovation Hub, will strengthen the state’s startup ecosystem. Naidu also emphasized collaboration with 25 IITs to enhance innovation and research capabilities.
- Skill Development for Rural Youth: Naidu stressed the importance of skill upgradation at workstations to address the skill gap among rural youth. The initiative will ensure that young people in rural areas are equipped to seize new employment opportunities in the tech sector.
- IT Company Subsidy Criteria: IT companies with at least 100 employees or office spaces of 10,000 square feet will be eligible for subsidies. This support will encourage the growth of the IT sector and attract businesses to Andhra Pradesh.
Vision for a Technology-Driven Economy
CM Naidu’s IT policy aims to transform Andhra Pradesh into a thriving technology-driven economy. With a focus on employment, innovation, and skill development, the government is creating a dynamic ecosystem to support startups, drive technological advancements, and position the state as a key player in the national IT landscape.
This bold vision signals a new era for Andhra Pradesh, where technology and innovation are at the heart of economic growth and job creation. As the state gears up to build this new infrastructure, it is poised to offer significant opportunities for businesses and the youth alike, ensuring that Andhra Pradesh leads the way in India’s technology revolution.
