The 5-door Force Gurkha has been in production for a very long time. The compact off-roading SUV’s conventional 3-door model received a significant makeover in 2021, and shortly after its introduction, Force revealed plans to produce a larger 5-door variant. Since then, there have been multiple instances of roadside eavesdropping on 5-door Gurkha test mules.

But we have just heard about its potential launch. Media outlets have received “block your date invites” from the Pune-based manufacturer for the end of April. Therefore, Force will likely introduce the 5-door Gurkha at this time or at the start of May 2024.

In addition, Force released a sneak peek photo of the five-door Gurkha with the invitation. The lifestyle vehicle’s silhouette is partially visible in the picture. As predicted, the 5-door Force Gurkha will have a boxy appearance with towering, upright pillars to match a flat roofline, just like its 3-door variant. A sizable greenhouse section divided into three window panels on each side is also shown in the teaser.

An adventure vehicle with a lifestyle is more appealing because of aesthetic features like a snorkel, jerry cans, a roof-mounted baggage rack, and a spare wheel mounted on the tailgate. Nonetheless, some of these components might only be available as accessories. The upcoming 5-door Gurkha and the 3-door model differ primarily because the latter will have square-ish headlamps instead of the circular ones supplied.

In addition, the 5-door variant will probably get 18/17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels instead of the 16-inch wheels found on the 3-door Gurkha. The bumpers on the front and back may also be changed. Apart from that, the 5-door Gurkha will be longer than its 3-door counterpart.

Mercedes-benz powered force Gurkha 5-door

The same 2.6-litre diesel engine from Mercedes that powers the 3-door Gurkha will also power the 5-door model. This motor produces a maximum torque of 250 Nm and 89 horsepower. It is only used in conjunction with a five-speed transmission. A low-range transfer case distributes power to each of the four wheels. Differentials with mechanical locking improve off-road performance.
