Today’s earthquake in Delhi: On Thursday afternoon, earthquake tremors shook the city and its surroundings. The earthquake vibrations were felt throughout the National Capital Region, especially in Noida, Ghaziabad, Faridabad, and Gurugram.
According to the National Center for Seismology, India’s main organization for monitoring earthquake activity, the epicenter of the earthquakes was in Afghanistan.

“Earthquake of Magnitude:6.1, Occurred on 11-01-2024, 14:50:24 IST, Lat: 36.48 & Long: 70.45, Depth: 220 Km ,Location: Afghanistan,” it read on the X-ray.
The earthquakes were reported in Chandigarh, Jammu & Kashmir, Haryana, Punjab, and other portions of northern India.
According to Pakistani media sources, earthquakes were reported in the cities of Lahore, Islamabad, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Earthquake vibrations were detected in India and Pakistan about 2.50 p.m.
There have been no reports of loss of life or damage as of yet.
According to NCS, the epicenter of the tremor was 241 kilometers north-northeast of Afghanistan’s Kabul.
The earthquake caused widespread concern, with many residents of Delhi and the National Capital Region experiencing furniture shaking.
Panicked, some people allegedly raced out of their homes and workplaces.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Meteorological Department recorded a 6.0-magnitude earthquake in portions of Pakistan around 2:20 p.m. According to PTI, the epicenter of the earthquake occurred in Afghanistan’s Hindu Kush area.
According to the US Geological Survey, the quake measured 6.4 on the Richter scale. It hit at a depth of 206.6 km, 44 kilometers south-west of Jurm in Afghanistan.
