The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) said that FASTag KYC data must be updated before the January 31 deadline. Even if there is enough balance, banks will deactivate or blacklist all FASTags that do not have complete Know Your Customer (KYC) updates after January 31, 2024, according to the NHAI.
What Is FASTag?
FASTag, an electronic method for collecting tolls on highways, makes paying toll fees at toll plazas more easier. The tag is attached to the car’s windscreen and linked to a bank account or prepaid card. When a vehicle equipped with a FASTag approaches the toll booth, RFID technology is used. The scanner reads the tag and deducts the toll.
