If the court approves this deal, owners of specific iPhone models may be entitled to receive compensation from Apple. Those who qualify might earn up to $150 in Canadian dollars, or Rs 9320 in Indian rupees, for each affected iPhone they possess. The actual amount, however, is determined by how many individuals beg for money.

This case applies to persons who lived in Canada (excluding Quebec) and owned particular iPhone models, like as the iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 6s, 6s Plus, SE, 7, or 7 Plus, before December 21, 2017.

People who may be eligible for this compensation do not need to take any action right immediately. If the settlement is approved by the court, more information on how to claim money will be accessible on a separate website. However, if someone does not want to be a part of this group suing Apple and instead wishes to sue Apple on their own, they must notify the court by January 10.

This case arose when Apple agreed to slow down some older iPhones with aging batteries. They have done this to prevent the phones from going down abruptly. When Apple changed the iPhone software, they did not notify customers of this change, which irritated many iPhone owners. Later, Apple apologized for not being explicit and decreased the cost of replacing iPhone batteries to $29 for a limited period.

This isn’t the first time Apple has been sued over this issue. They resolved a similar action in the United States for $500 million. People involved in that case have started to get around $92 apiece this week.

Overall, this legal scenario demonstrates the aftermath from Apple’s management of the performance of older iPhones and how they’ve dealt with the ramifications in various nations. If the deal is granted, certain iPhone customers in Canada may be reimbursed for problems with their phones.
