The Exter, Hyundai’s most economical SUV, has already received over 1 lakh reservations. Although the micro-SUV was released in July, the company began collecting customer orders in May.
Ex-showroom prices for the Hyundai Exter range between Rs 6 lakh and Rs 10.15 lakh. It competes with the Tata Punch, Nissan Magnite, and Renault Kiger.

In terms of volume, the Exter is off to a good start, with Hyundai shipping 31,174 vehicles in the domestic market from July to October.
Hyundai sold 7,000 Exter units in July, 7,430 in August, 8,647 in September, and 8,097 in October.
Hyundai Motor India’s Chief Operating Officer (COO) Tarun Garg stated during a select media conference that reservations for the Exter have now surpassed 1 lakh.
According to Garg, whereas high-end trims account for 31% of total reservations, sunroof versions account for 78% of total bookings.
The Hyundai Exter is powered by a 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder Kappa petrol engine that produces 83PS and 113.8Nm. There are two gearbox choices: 5-speed manual and 5-speed automatic. The SUV also comes with a CNG engine that generates 69PS and 95.2Nm and may be combined with a 5-speed manual transmission.
The Exter MT is said to get 19.4kmpl, the Exter AMT gets 19.2kmpl, and the Exter CNG gets 27.1km/kg.
The Exter has a parametric grille, istinctive H-LED taillamps, LED projector headlights, d front and rear skid plates, 15-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, bridge-type roof rails, and a shark fin antenna on the outside. The inside has a black 3D pattern finish on the dashboard, leatherette upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear knob, footwell illumination, and metal pedals. A voice-enabled motorized sunroof, a dashcam with twin cameras, a wireless charger, rear AC vents, and a cooled glove box are also sector firsts.
The Exter has an 8-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, a digital instrument cluster with a 4.2-inch colored TFT MID, cruise control, automatic temperature control, six airbags, and seatbelt reminders for all seats.
