Hyundai is gearing up for a busy year in India. From refreshed sedans to electric upgrades and an all-new SUV, the Korean carmaker plans to roll out four new models in 2026, targeting both budget-conscious buyers and premium customers. The first launch is expected as early as the second quarter, with more big updates lined up through the festive season.
Here’s a clean look at what Hyundai has in store.
Hyundai Verna Facelift: Sharper Design, More Tech
Hyundai will kick off the year with a facelift of the Hyundai Verna. Launched in March 2023, the sixth-generation Verna is due for a mid-cycle update, following Hyundai’s global three-year product strategy.

The updated Verna is expected to get a more aggressive front design inspired by the Sonata. Inside, Hyundai is likely to introduce a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, both running the new ccNC software. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also expected. Mechanical changes are unlikely, with the existing petrol engines set to continue.
Hyundai Exter Facelift: Subtle Refresh for the Entry SUV
Later in the second quarter, Hyundai is expected to refresh the Hyundai Exter, its popular entry-level SUV.
The Exter facelift is rumoured to feature a larger touchscreen infotainment system, a fully digital instrument cluster, and updated exterior styling. Changes may include redesigned bumpers, tweaked headlamps and tail lamps, and new 15-inch alloy wheels. Engine and transmission options are expected to remain unchanged, keeping things familiar for current buyers.
Hyundai Ioniq 5 Facelift: More Range, Better Features
Hyundai’s electric portfolio will also see an update with the facelifted Hyundai Ioniq 5, likely launching around June or July.
Revealed globally in 2024, the updated Ioniq 5 comes with subtle design tweaks and practical additions like a rear wiper and washer. Inside, it gets a new three-spoke steering wheel, Digital Key 2, and dual 12.3-inch displays powered by ccNC software. The big upgrade is a larger 84 kWh battery pack, which should deliver improved driving range—something Indian EV buyers care deeply about.
Hyundai Bayon: The Big Festive Season Launch
The most important Hyundai launch of the year is expected around the festive season—the Hyundai Bayon. This won’t be the current global model but the next-generation Bayon, currently under development.
Positioned above the Venue, the Bayon will be a sub-4 metre SUV with a sportier, more technical design. It will be based on the same platform as the upcoming fourth-generation i20 and is expected to debut Hyundai’s hybrid-ready 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine, signaling a shift toward cleaner, future-ready powertrains.
