JSW MG Motor India wrapped up calendar year 2025 on a strong note, reporting over 70,500 vehicle dispatches and a 19 per cent year-on-year growth, underlining steady momentum in a competitive auto market. The company dispatched 70,554 units between January and December 2025, with December alone contributing close to 6,500 wholesale units.
Electric push delivers big gains
A key driver behind the growth was MG’s expanding electric vehicle portfolio. The automaker crossed the one-lakh cumulative EV sales milestone in India, helped largely by the strong response to the Windsor EV. During the 2025 calendar year, MG also retained its position as India’s highest-selling electric passenger vehicle brand, reinforcing its early-mover advantage in the segment.

Industry observers note that the Windsor EV’s pricing, range focus and urban-friendly positioning have struck a chord with buyers looking to shift from ICE vehicles to EVs without moving too far up the price ladder.
MG Select gains traction in luxury EV space
On the premium side, MG Select, the brand’s luxury-focused retail channel, saw rising traction through the year. The network reported a 38 per cent month-on-month growth, driven by interest in flagship electric models such as the M9 electric MPV and the Cyberster electric roadster, billed as the fastest MG ever built.
In under a year of operations, MG Select has already set up 15 experience centres across 14 major Indian cities. The brand currently ranks second in the luxury EV segment, signalling growing acceptance of premium electric offerings among Indian buyers.
Product updates support volume growth
Product refreshes also played a role in sustaining demand. In December, MG introduced the updated Hector, priced from Rs 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom), featuring mid-life updates to both design and cabin features. The refreshed SUV helped maintain volumes in the highly competitive midsize SUV segment.
Assured buy-back scheme for EV buyers
To boost customer confidence and long-term ownership value, the company rolled out an industry-first assured buy-back programme for electric vehicles. Under the scheme, EV customers are guaranteed a predefined resale value after three, four or five years, depending on the plan selected—an initiative aimed at addressing concerns around depreciation and resale.

What’s next in 2026
Looking ahead, MG is expected to expand its India portfolio further in 2026. Among the anticipated launches is the MG Majestor, a more premium take on the Gloster, expected to take on models like the Toyota Fortuner Legender. The company is also likely to introduce additional premium electric models from its global lineup.
With strong EV momentum, expanding retail formats and a growing product pipeline, JSW MG Motor India appears well-placed to build on its 2025 performance in the year ahead.
