Madhya Pradesh is on the verge of a remarkable transformation with the imminent establishment of two new airports in Guna and Shivpuri. Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia recently unveiled ambitious plans for the construction of these airports, aimed at significantly enhancing air connectivity in the region. Similarly, Shivpuri Airport, also identified under UDAN 5.2, is set to accommodate nine-seater aircraft upon commencement of operations. The announcement has already garnered interest from Spirit Air, a burgeoning startup airline, which has expressed a keen desire to establish connectivity between Shivpuri and Bhopal. With AAI assuming responsibility for O&M services at Shivpuri Airport as well, the Ministry of Civil Aviation’s allocation of INR 45 crore underscores the government’s commitment to advancing regional connectivity.
