Mahindra is clearly not slowing down. After a strong run in both electric and petrol-diesel SUVs, the homegrown automaker has now mapped out an aggressive product plan for the next few years — and it’s packed with familiar names getting upgrades plus a few exciting new entries. From a refreshed Scorpio N and updated three-door Thar to an all-new compact SUV based on the Vision S concept, there’s a lot coming for Indian buyers.
At a recent investor meet, Mahindra & Mahindra shared fresh details about its upcoming launches and future roadmap, giving a clear hint that 2026 and 2027 could be big years for the brand.
Tata Sierra EV India Launch Soon: 500km Range, Triple Screens, Premium SUV Features Revealed
Strong EV Momentum Sets The Tone
Mahindra’s electric journey is already gathering pace. The company said it has sold over 41,000 electric SUVs within just ten months — between March 2025 and January 31, 2026.
What’s more interesting is the usage. These EVs have collectively clocked 32.56 crore kilometres, showing that customers aren’t just experimenting — they’re actually driving them daily.
Models like the BE6 Formula E Edition and the three-row XEV 9S have helped Mahindra strengthen its presence in the born-electric space, while new light commercial vehicles such as the Bolero Camper and Bolero Pikup have expanded its utility portfolio.
Scorpio Range To Get A Mid-Life Refresh
The Mahindra Scorpio N and Mahindra Scorpio Classic are next in line for updates.
The facelifted Scorpio N has already been spotted testing on public roads. Don’t expect a dramatic redesign though. Early sightings suggest subtle exterior tweaks — possibly new bumpers, revised lighting elements and fresh alloy wheels.
Inside, the changes could feel more noticeable. Expect:
- Better upholstery options
- Updated trims
- New tech features
- Possible ADAS additions like in Mahindra’s newer EVs
Under the hood, things should stay familiar. The current 2.0-litre turbo petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engines are likely to continue without major mechanical changes.
Three-Door Thar To Get A Big Update
The iconic Mahindra Thar isn’t being left behind either.
Mahindra is reportedly preparing a substantial refresh of the three-door Thar, and multiple camouflaged test mules have already been spotted. The brand may borrow design cues from the Thar Roxx and add more modern touches.
Buyers can expect:
- Updated infotainment
- More features and connected tech
- Fresh styling bits
- Improved comfort
Given how popular the Thar already is among young and adventure-focused buyers, even small improvements could make a big impact on sales.
Rugged BE 6 ‘Rall-E’ Version In The Works
For EV enthusiasts, Mahindra is also cooking up something more hardcore.
The rugged version of the Mahindra BE 6, widely expected to be called BE 6 Rall-E, has been making headlines. It will likely sit on Mahindra’s dedicated skateboard EV platform but come with a tougher, more off-road-ready personality.
Volkswagen, Skoda & Audi in India Accused of Tax Evasion by Misclassifying Car Imports
What could change:
- Higher ground clearance
- Chunkier wheels and tyres
- Protective body cladding
- Upright, adventure-focused styling
Mechanically, battery packs and motor setups may remain similar to the standard BE 6.
‘Vision S’ Baby Scorpio Coming In 2027
Looking a bit further ahead, Mahindra is also planning a compact SUV based on the Vision S concept.
Often referred to as a “baby Scorpio N”, this new model will use the NU_IQ platform and is expected to arrive around early 2027. The idea seems simple — bring the Scorpio’s tough image to a smaller, more affordable package.
There’s also talk of a Scorpio N-based pickup truck, which could appeal to lifestyle and utility buyers alike.
The Bigger Picture
Mahindra’s strategy is pretty clear. It’s not betting on just one segment.
Instead, the company is:
- Expanding electric SUVs
- Updating proven ICE models
- Entering new compact and lifestyle spaces
This mix of old favourites and fresh ideas gives it strong coverage across price points and customer types.
If timelines hold, the next two years could see Mahindra launching one new or updated SUV almost every few months — something that should keep rivals on their toes.
For buyers, that simply means more choices and better tech across the board.
