Mahindra is clearly in no mood to slow down. After an aggressive product push in 2025, the homegrown automaker is preparing another strong lineup for 2026. Three major SUV launches are already in the pipeline, targeting buyers who want road presence, modern tech and proven powertrains. From a refreshed flagship to updates for two of its most popular nameplates, Mahindra’s showrooms are set to stay busy next year.
XUV 7XO to Lead Mahindra’s 2026 Launch Calendar
The first big launch will be the Mahindra XUV 7XO, essentially the facelifted version of the XUV700. The company is expected to introduce it in early January, with pre-bookings already open at select dealerships.
On the outside, the XUV 7XO will get sharper headlamps, a new six-slot grille, redesigned bumpers and larger 19-inch alloy wheels. The tail-lamps are likely to draw inspiration from Mahindra’s newer electric SUVs, giving the car a more tech-heavy look.
Inside, the changes are even more noticeable. A redesigned dashboard with three 12.3-inch screens, a new two-spoke steering wheel and a fresh brown interior theme are expected. Mahindra is also adding comfort-focused upgrades like a 6-way power front passenger seat with boss mode, AR-based HUD, ventilated second-row seats and dual wireless charging. Mechanically, the SUV is likely to retain the same petrol and diesel engines offered on the current XUV700.
Scorpio-N Facelift Expected Around March
Next in line is the first facelift of the Mahindra Scorpio-N, which was originally launched in 2022. The updated model is expected to arrive around March 2026.
The Scorpio-N facelift will focus on visual updates rather than mechanical changes. Expect revised bumpers, tweaked headlamp graphics, a refreshed grille and new 17-inch alloy wheels. Inside, Mahindra could introduce larger 10.25-inch displays, new upholstery materials and an updated colour scheme. Engine and gearbox options are expected to remain unchanged, sticking to the tried-and-tested formula that has worked well for the brand.
Thar to Get a Second, More Comprehensive Facelift
Mahindra isn’t done with the Thar just yet. After rolling out a minor update recently, the company is already working on a more noticeable refresh for the two-door off-roader, expected later in 2026.
This update could bring bi-LED projector headlamps, a redesigned six-slot grille and bigger 19-inch wheels, with styling cues borrowed from the Mahindra Thar Roxx. More importantly, Mahindra is likely to add comfort and convenience features such as ventilated front seats, power-folding ORVMs, passive keyless entry, auto-dimming IRVM and a wireless phone charger. As with the other two SUVs, no major engine or transmission changes are expected.
What This Means for Buyers
Mahindra’s 2026 SUV lineup clearly focuses on evolution rather than reinvention. The brand is doubling down on bold design, feature-rich cabins and proven powertrains—an approach that should appeal to both loyal Mahindra customers and new buyers upgrading from smaller cars.
With the XUV 7XO, Scorpio-N facelift and an updated Thar, Mahindra is positioning itself strongly in the competitive SUV space, just as demand for large, lifestyle-focused vehicles continues to grow in India.
