What’s new in the Thar Roxx Star Edition
Mahindra has leaned heavily into design upgrades for the Star Edition. On the outside, the SUV gets a piano-black grille and piano-black alloy wheels, giving it a darker, more aggressive stance. Inside, the cabin now features all-black leatherette upholstery with suede accents, instantly lifting the premium feel.
Other interior updates include ventilated front seats, a sliding armrest, and 60:40 split rear seats with multi-point recline, making the Roxx more comfortable for everyday use as well as long drives.
Features and tech highlights
The Thar Roxx Star Edition comes loaded with tech and convenience features. These include fully automatic climate control, electrically foldable ORVMs, cruise control, and steering-mounted controls.
At the centre is a 26.03 cm HD touchscreen infotainment system paired with a 26.03 cm digital instrument cluster. Mahindra’s AdrenoX connected car platform is onboard with Alexa built-in and over 80 connected features. Buyers also get wired and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a surround-view camera, and a 9-speaker Harman Kardon Quantum Logic audio system.
Engine and drivetrain
There are no mechanical changes in the Star Edition. Powertrain options remain the same as the standard Thar Roxx.
The petrol version uses a 2.0-litre TGDi mStallion engine that produces 130 kW and 380 Nm of torque. Diesel buyers get the 2.2-litre mHawk engine delivering 128.6 kW and 400 Nm. Both engines are offered with manual and automatic gearboxes depending on the variant. All versions continue with a rear-wheel-drive layout. A petrol manual option is not available.
Safety package
Mahindra says the Thar Roxx Star Edition is designed to meet 5-star Bharat NCAP safety standards. Standard safety features include six airbags, front and rear parking sensors, rear parking camera, auto-dimming IRVM, TPMS, auto door unlock on impact, immobiliser, and e-call with SOS functionality.
