Three guys were electrocuted in Karnataka’s Gadag district early Monday while installing a flex to commemorate Kannada cinema star Yash’s birthday.
The police have named the dead as Hanumanth Harijan, 24, Murali Naduvinamani, 20, and Naveen Gaaji, 20. The tragedy occurred at around 1 a.m. in Suranagi village, Laxmeshwar taluk, Gadag district.

Babasaheb Nemagouda, Superintendent of Police in Gadag, stated, “Three people were electrocuted and three were injured while putting up the banner. The banner featured a metal frame that was in contact with a HESCOM wire. A case has been filed at the Lakshmeshwar Police Station. “We will look into this.”
The three people who were injured were sent to the local hospital for additional treatment.
Shirhatti MLA Chandru Lamani, who visited the site, stated, “We request that the public not erect any metallic frame banners.” I also beg that Yash visit the relatives of the dead.”
Yash, a KGF star, will celebrate his birthday on January 8. In an X post on January 4, Yash stated that he will be unable to meet with his supporters on January 8 due to travel.
