Mann Ki Baat LIVE: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation in the 129th episode of Mann Ki Baat on Sunday, marking his final radio address of the year. Touching upon culture, youth, sports, science, environment and national pride, the Prime Minister urged citizens to step into 2026 with “new energy, new enthusiasm and a strong sense of togetherness”.
The monthly programme was broadcast across the All India Radio and Doordarshan networks, and streamed live on AIR News, DD News, PMO and Ministry of Information and Broadcasting’s digital platforms.
A look back at India’s journey in 2025
Reflecting on the year gone by, PM Modi said 2025 showcased India’s resilience and growing self-confidence. From cultural milestones to sporting achievements, he said the country moved forward with a collective spirit.

He highlighted major moments such as the grand organisation of the Prayagraj Mahakumbh and the ceremonial flag hoisting at the Ram temple in Ayodhya, calling them symbols of India’s civilisational continuity and cultural pride.
Kashi Tamil Sangamam and India’s linguistic unity
Speaking about the Kashi Tamil Sangamam, the Prime Minister underlined efforts to promote the Tamil language among students outside Tamil Nadu. He said more than 50 schools in Varanasi participated in campaigns encouraging children to learn Tamil.
Calling Tamil one of the world’s oldest languages, PM Modi said the growing interest among youngsters across regions reflects the strength of India’s linguistic diversity and unity.
‘Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue’ for the youth
Addressing young Indians directly, PM Modi spoke about the upcoming Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue. He said many youngsters often ask how they can present their ideas directly to him, and this platform aims to bridge that gap.
The event will be held on January 12, on National Youth Day, marking Swami Vivekananda’s birth anniversary. PM Modi confirmed he will participate in the dialogue and expressed eagerness to interact with young innovators.
‘Where there is a will, there is a way’
Sharing an inspiring grassroots story, the Prime Minister mentioned Moirangthem Seth, a young entrepreneur from a remote region of Manipur. Facing frequent power shortages, he turned to solar energy as a local solution.
PM Modi said such efforts show how innovation at the community level can solve real problems, while also noting the government’s subsidy support for solar power adoption.
Push for swadeshi and local products
PM Modi said 2025 witnessed strong public support for swadeshi products, with people increasingly choosing goods made by Indian workers. He noted that this shift reflects growing trust in domestic manufacturing and has added to India’s economic confidence.
Big strides in science, environment and wildlife
The Prime Minister highlighted India’s progress in science and space, mentioning that Shubhanshu Shukla became the first Indian to reach the International Space Station.

Calling 2025 a memorable year for sports, PM Modi praised Indian athletes across disciplines. He cited the men’s cricket team’s ICC Champions Trophy win, the women’s team lifting their maiden World Cup, and the women’s blind T20 team scripting history.
He also applauded para-athletes for their medal-winning performances, saying they proved that determination can overcome any obstacle.
