Mercedes-Benz has introduced the 2024 GLS in India, priced at Rs 1.32 crore (ex-showroom). The premium German brand’s flagship SUV has been given a slightly different design, additional features, and more luxury. The GLS is the first of 12+ releases that Mercedes-Benz has planned for 2024.
2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS Exterior:
While the facelift is minor, it does enough to distinguish it from the previous model by adding a new butch-slatted grille. The LED DRLs and headlights are new, and the front bumper has been modified to complement them. The rear also gets new reprofiled LED lighting components, which adds to the GLS’s freshness.

Mercedes-Benz will offer up to five exterior colors for the SUV, including Obsidian Black, High-Tech Silver, Sodalite Blue, Selenite Grey, and Polar White. There is also a fresh look for the 21-inch alloy wheels.
2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS interior :
While the GLS’ interior structure has not altered, the manufacturer has offered new and fresher upholstery options to assist ease the luxury quotient. There is a redesigned steering wheel with touch sensitive buttons and haptic feedback, while the dashboard and door parts have a Mercedes-Maybach GLS motif. The MBUX system has been upgraded to the most recent version, and it now includes the Transparent Bonnet function, which stitches together a view of the engine bay’s underbelly to assist with off-road navigation.
There is a new 360-degree video system, which is ideal for handling the large vehicle, as well as heated/cooled seats, multiple zone climate control, massage function, and the Rear Seat Comfort Package. This option includes two 11.6-inch monitors for the back passengers, head restraints, motorized sunblinds, and other comfort amenities.
As previously, the GLS has two engine options: petrol and diesel. The petrol and diesel engines are both 3.0-litre six-cylinders, with the former producing 381bhp and 500Nm and the latter producing 367bhp and 700Nm of torque. Both engines are connected to a 9-speed automatic gearbox and an integrated starter motor, which provides 20bhp and 200Nm of torque during short bursts of acceleration. The power is sent to all wheels via Mercedes’ 4Matic AWD technology. The SUV has a manually adjustable air suspension.
Price
The GLS 450 petrol starts at Rs 1.32 crore (ex-showroom), while the GLS 450d diesel costs Rs 1.37 crore. The three-row Mercedes competes in India alongside the BMW X7, Audi A7, Volvo XC9, and Land Rover Discovery.
