OnePlus is ready to kick off 2026 with a bold hardware statement. The Chinese smartphone brand has officially confirmed the launch of its new Turbo series, with two models — Turbo 6 and Turbo 6V — set to debut in China on January 8.
The headline feature? A massive 9,000mAh battery, paired with fast charging and a surprisingly slim camera design — something rarely seen on phones with such large power cells.
Massive 9,000mAh battery with fast charging
Both the OnePlus Turbo 6 and Turbo 6V will pack 9,000mAh silicon-carbon batteries, the largest ever on a OnePlus smartphone. Despite the battery size, the company claims the phones will remain comfortable to hold.

The devices are also expected to support up to 80W fast charging, ensuring users won’t be stuck waiting hours to top up. The focus here is clearly on endurance — ideal for heavy users, gamers, and those who rely on their phone all day.
Ultra-slim camera bump tackles a common annoyance
Smartphone camera bumps have been getting thicker every year, often causing phones to wobble on flat surfaces. OnePlus seems keen to fix that.
According to official teasers, the OnePlus Turbo 6 will feature a camera bump just 1.7mm thick, making it one of the slimmest camera modules in its segment. The Turbo 6V is expected to follow a similar design approach.
Both phones sport flat frames with softly curved edges, and to keep prices in check, OnePlus is likely to use plastic frames and back panels.
Performance-first approach with flagship-grade chips
As the name suggests, the Turbo series is all about performance.
- OnePlus Turbo 6 is tipped to run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 4
- OnePlus Turbo 6V is expected to feature the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4
On the display front, both phones are said to come with 1.5K AMOLED panels. The Turbo 6 will reportedly push things further with a 165Hz refresh rate, while the Turbo 6V may settle for a still-smooth 144Hz.
Camera setup and durability details
Photography duties on both models are expected to be handled by a dual rear camera setup, featuring:
- 50MP primary camera
- 8MP ultra-wide lens
- 32MP front camera for selfies and video calls
In terms of durability, the Turbo 6 is rumoured to offer IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings, putting it among the most rugged smartphones in its class.

Launch date, India plans and expected pricing
The OnePlus Turbo 6 and Turbo 6V will launch in China on January 8, 2026, at 7 PM local time, which translates to 4:30 PM IST.
Industry chatter suggests OnePlus could rebrand these devices for India as the OnePlus Nord 6 and Nord CE 6, though there’s no official confirmation yet.
Pricing details are still under wraps. For reference, the OnePlus Nord 5 launched in India at ₹29,999, giving a rough idea of where the Turbo series could land if it comes to the Indian market.
