OnePlus may be gearing up for a major battery upgrade in its mid-range lineup. A new report suggests the company is working on a smartphone — currently dubbed the OnePlus Turbo — that could feature a massive 9,000mAh battery, the biggest ever on a OnePlus phone. If launched in India, the device is expected to arrive under the Nord branding, staying in line with OnePlus’ market-specific naming strategy.
OnePlus Turbo India launch timeline (expected)
According to a report by Android Headlines, the OnePlus Turbo is likely to debut first in China around January 2026. The India launch could follow a few months later, possibly in March 2026.
There’s also speculation that OnePlus may use Mobile World Congress, scheduled between March 2 and March 5, for a global announcement. That said, OnePlus has not officially confirmed any launch plans yet.
Nord branding likely for India
While the Turbo name is expected to be used in China, OnePlus may rebrand the device as a Nord-series phone for India. This wouldn’t be new for the company, which has previously renamed devices for different markets to better fit local positioning.

Bigger battery than OnePlus 15R?
If the Turbo does arrive in India as a Nord model, it could outperform the OnePlus 15R in terms of battery size. The 15R reportedly carries a 7,400mAh battery, which is already among the largest in the segment.
