Islamabad has conducted airstrikes in neighboring Iran in retaliation for the Iranian attacks on two Jaish al-Adl terrorist sites within Pakistan on Wednesday. According to local accounts, the Pakistan Air Force launched airstrikes on Baluch separatist camps in Iran, killing four children and three women. In its initial statement, Pakistan admitted that it conducted “military strikes against terrorist hideouts” in Iran.
In a statement, Pakistan stated it “undertook a series of military strikes against terrorist hideouts in Iran’s Sistan-O-Baluchistan province.” Pakistan also stated that it completely respects Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, while acknowledging that a number of terrorists were killed in the intelligence-based operation dubbed “Marg Bar Sarmachar”.

It stated, “Over the last many years, in our contacts with Iran, Pakistan has constantly voiced its significant concerns over the safe havens and sanctuaries enjoyed by Pakistani origin terrorists calling themselves “Sarmachars on ungoverned regions inside Iran.” Pakistan also submitted many dossiers with actual proof of these terrorists’ presence and activity.
“This morning’s action was done in response to credible intelligence indicating impending large-scale terrorist activity by these so-called Sarmachars. This measure demonstrates Pakistan’s unwavering will to preserve and defend its national security from all threats. The flawless execution of this very complicated operation also demonstrates the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces. Pakistan will continue to take all necessary measures to ensure the safety and security of its people, which is sacrosanct, inviolable, and precious.”
The Iranian authorities have not immediately acknowledged the strikes.
The Pakistani Army airstrikes occurred a day after Iran claimed to have hit the Jaish al-Adl terrorist headquarters in Balochistan, which purportedly killed two children and injured two more.
According to reports, numerous explosions were reported early Thursday in Iran’s volatile southeastern area. “Several explosions have been observed in several areas around the city of Saravan,” the official IRNA news agency said, citing a Sistan-Baluchistan provincial official.
Pakistan’s foreign ministry condemned the “unprovoked and blatant breach of Pakistan’s sovereignty” on Wednesday, withdrawing its ambassador from Iran and preventing Tehran’s envoy, who is presently in Iran, from returning.
Tehran and Islamabad routinely accuse one other of permitting extremists to conduct strikes from their own territories, although official forces on either side seldom engage.
