Poco has expanded its mid-range smartphone lineup in India with the launch of the Poco M8 5G, bringing a premium AMOLED display, a large battery, and long-term software support to the sub-₹25,000 segment. Powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon chipset and running HyperOS 2, the new phone aims to challenge rivals like the OnePlus Nord CE 5 and Realme P3 Pro.
The Poco M8 5G is essentially a tweaked, more aggressively priced version of the Redmi Note 15 5G, but Poco is betting on sharper pricing and stronger value to attract buyers.

The Poco M8 5G starts at ₹18,999 for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant. The 8GB + 128GB model is priced at ₹19,999, while the top-end 8GB + 256GB version costs ₹21,999.
As part of launch offers, Poco is giving an instant ₹2,000 discount on ICICI Bank cards or a ₹2,000 exchange bonus. Buyers can also get an additional ₹1,000 discount during the first 12 hours of sale. The phone will go on sale via Flipkart starting January 13.
Display and Performance
One of the biggest highlights of the Poco M8 5G is its 6.77-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. The panel offers a peak brightness of up to 3,200 nits, 3840Hz PWM dimming, and triple TÜV Rheinland eye protection certification, making it suitable for extended viewing and outdoor use.
Under the hood, the device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, paired with LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage. Poco ships the phone with HyperOS 2 out of the box and promises four years of Android updates along with six years of security patches, which is still rare in this price range.
Camera Setup
On the camera front, the Poco M8 5G features a dual rear camera system led by a 50MP Light Fusion 400 primary sensor, accompanied by a 2MP secondary lens. The camera supports 4K video recording and slow-motion capture. For selfies and video calls, there’s a 20MP front camera housed in a punch-hole cutout.
Battery, Build and Other Features
The phone packs a 5,520mAh battery with support for 45W wired fast charging, and Poco includes the charger in the box. It also supports 18W reverse charging, allowing users to top up other devices when needed.
Additional features include an in-display fingerprint sensor, dual stereo speakers with a claimed 300% volume boost, and IP65/IP66 dust and water resistance. Despite the large battery, the device remains slim at 7.35mm and weighs 178 grams.
