Varun & Janhvi’s rom-com heads to OTT
Bollywood’s latest romantic comedy, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, starring Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor, is all set for its OTT release. After a theatrical run starting October 2, the film will premiere on Netflix in the last week of November 2025, roughly eight weeks post its big-screen debut.

Box office start despite big clash
Released on Gandhi Jayanti alongside Rishab Shetty’s Kantara Chapter 1, the film still managed to collect around ₹9-10 crore on opening day. Reviews have been mixed to positive, with audiences praising the breezy chemistry of Varun and Janhvi while pointing out some predictable rom-com tropes.
What the movie is about
The film follows Sunny (Varun) and Tulsi (Janhvi), two ex-lovers trying to make their former partners jealous by pretending to date each other. Their fake romance quickly spirals into chaos, with Ananya (Sanya Malhotra) and Vikram (Rohit Saraf) caught in the middle.
If the setup feels familiar, that’s the point—Khaitan leans into classic Bollywood rom-com messiness, but with a new-age, quirky twist.

The Varun–Janhvi team-up fans were waiting for
For fans of Bollywood pairings, this film is special. It’s the second time Varun and Janhvi are sharing screen space after Bawaal (2023). Director Shashank Khaitan, meanwhile, has worked with both actors separately in the past—Janhvi’s debut Dhadak (2018) and Varun’s Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania (2014) and Badrinath Ki Dulhania (2017).
OTT release: When and where to watch
If you missed catching it in theatres, you won’t have to wait long. Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari will stream on Netflix by late November 2025, just in time for the holiday binge season.
