The Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) confirmed that the maintenance work will temporarily impact the city’s water supply, including areas connected through Mumbai’s network.

Currently, Thane receives around 85 million litres per day (MLD) from BMC’s water sources, which means many neighbourhoods will experience low water pressure or limited supply during the three-day exercise.

Thane Areas Likely to Face Low Pressure

According to the TMC, the following areas will experience a dip in water pressure:

Kopri Dhobighat, Kopri Kanhaiya Nagar, Gandhi Nagar, Anand Nagar, Indiranagar, Bhatwadi, Tekdi Bangla Water Tank, Gavdevi (Luiswadi) Water Tank, Balkum Pada No.1, Ambedkar Nagar, Laxmi Nagar, Kajuwadi, Jijamata Nagar, Jai Bhavani Nagar, Dnyaneshwar Nagar, Ambika Nagar, Karwalo Nagar, Shivshakti Nagar, Janata Slum, Padval Nagar, Shivaji Nagar, Kisan Nagar No.1, Kisan Nagar No.2, Ramchandra Nagar 1, Sainath Nagar, Namdev Wadi, Raghunath Nagar, Luiswadi, Hajuri, Pachpakhadi, and Naupada.

The civic body has requested residents to store enough water in advance and use it carefully throughout the maintenance period to avoid inconvenience.

Plan Ahead & Use Water Wisely

“We request residents to cooperate and conserve water. The upgrade is essential to maintain a reliable water network across Mumbai and Thane,” said a senior TMC official.
