JioHotstar is taking its Indian entertainment catalogue beyond the country, expanding its streaming service to the UK, Canada and Singapore. The Reliance-backed platform is targeting the large South Asian diaspora while also looking to attract international viewers interested in Indian films, television and regional-language content.
JioHotstar Expands to Three International Markets
The international rollout gives viewers in the UK, Canada and Singapore access to JioHotstar’s entertainment library through a single streaming platform. The service brings together television shows, films, regional programming, non-fiction, children’s content and anime.
The move is particularly significant for Indian and South Asian audiences living overseas, who often look for entertainment in Indian languages. At the same time, JioHotstar is positioning its international offering for a broader audience interested in Indian stories, culture and cinema.

A Bigger International Push for JioHotstar
The expansion marks an important step in JioHotstar’s international strategy. By entering the UK, Canada and Singapore, the streaming service is taking its large Indian content library to markets with established South Asian communities.
The move also reflects the growing international demand for Indian-language entertainment. With a mix of Bollywood, television, regional stories and original programming, JioHotstar is looking to build a streaming experience that goes beyond its domestic audience.
For viewers in the three new markets, the launch means more Indian entertainment is now available through one platform, while JioHotstar gets a new opportunity to compete for audiences outside India.
