Xiaomi is gearing up for a packed launch event in China on May 21, and the biggest highlight is clearly the upcoming Xiaomi 17 Max. The company has now officially confirmed the device alongside a bunch of other products, including the Xiaomi Band 10 Pro, the brand-new Xiaomi Ear Clip earbuds, and even a new electric SUV called the Xiaomi YU7 GT.
The launch event is scheduled to begin at 7pm local China time, which translates to 4:30pm IST for Indian viewers. And honestly, Xiaomi seems to be going all-in this time.

Xiaomi 17 Max Could Be the Battery Monster of 2026
The biggest talking point around the Xiaomi 17 Max right now is its enormous 8,000mAh battery. That is massive even by today’s flagship standards and could easily become one of the strongest battery-focused premium phones of the year.
What makes things more interesting is that Xiaomi is not positioning the phone as a mid-range battery device. Instead, it is going straight into flagship territory with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset under the hood.
That means users are likely getting both performance and battery life together — something smartphone brands usually struggle to balance.
The Xiaomi 17 Max will join the existing Xiaomi 17 series lineup, which already includes the Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Pro, Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, and Xiaomi 17 Ultra.
Leica Cameras Remain a Big Focus
Xiaomi is continuing its partnership with Leica for the camera system on the Xiaomi 17 Max, and the hardware looks seriously powerful on paper.
According to official teasers, the phone will feature a triple rear camera setup led by a 200-megapixel primary sensor. Alongside that, Xiaomi is also adding a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto lens.
The front camera will sit inside a centred hole-punch cutout, keeping the front design clean and modern.
From the teaser images shared so far, the phone appears to stick with Xiaomi’s premium flagship design language. A square-shaped rear camera module is visible on the back, while at least two colour options — Blue and White — have already been confirmed.
Xiaomi Ear Clip Marks a New Audio Category
Apart from smartphones, Xiaomi is also entering a slightly different audio segment with the launch of the Xiaomi Ear Clip earbuds.
These will be Xiaomi’s first clip-style true wireless earbuds, designed for users who prefer a more open-ear listening experience instead of traditional in-ear buds.
The company has confirmed three colour options for the earbuds:
- Basalt Black
- Pearl White
- Satin Gold
Clip-on earbuds have started becoming more popular recently, especially among users who want comfort during workouts or long listening sessions without fully sealing the ear canal.
Xiaomi Band 10 Pro Also Confirmed
Fitness wearables are also part of the May 21 event, with Xiaomi preparing to unveil the Xiaomi Band 10 Pro.
While the company has not revealed full specifications yet, expectations are high for upgraded health tracking, improved battery life, and deeper smart ecosystem integration.
Xiaomi may also announce additional smart home products during the presentation, although details remain under wraps for now.

Pre-Orders Already Live in China
Xiaomi has already opened pre-orders in China for the Xiaomi 17 Max, Xiaomi Band 10 Pro, and Xiaomi Ear Clip ahead of the official unveiling.
That usually suggests the company is confident about strong initial demand, especially for the Xiaomi 17 Max, which is already generating buzz online because of its battery size and flagship hardware combination.
At the moment, there is no official word on global or India launch timelines. However, considering Xiaomi’s strong smartphone presence in India, many users will likely be hoping for an announcement soon after the China debut.
