Why Is Pradosh Kaal Important for Dhanteras Puja?
Pradosh Kaal is considered an important period for Dhanteras worship. It begins around sunset and is traditionally preferred for Lakshmi-Kubera Puja. The overlap with Vrishabha Lagna, a fixed zodiac sign in Vedic astrology, is also considered auspicious for worshipping Goddess Lakshmi.
Devotees generally clean and decorate their homes, light diyas and offer prayers to Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Kubera during the evening rituals.
Dhanteras 2026: Significance of the Festival
Dhanteras is not only associated with wealth and material prosperity but also with good health and well-being. The festival honours Lord Dhanvantari, who is traditionally regarded as the divine physician and associated with Ayurveda and healing.
The occasion serves as a reminder that true prosperity goes beyond money. Good health, happiness, family well-being and gratitude are equally important parts of a fulfilling life.
As Dhanteras 2026 approaches, devotees across India, the United States, the United Kingdom, the UAE, Canada and Australia are preparing for the celebrations. Whether you plan to purchase gold, decorate your home or perform Lakshmi-Kubera Puja, checking the correct local muhurat can help you observe the festival according to your traditions.
