The new-generation Audi Q3 has been unveiled in India ahead of its launch this October, and the compact luxury SUV gets a much bigger makeover than a simple facelift. Audi has reworked the exterior, redesigned the cabin and added more technology, while the India-spec model is expected to continue with the familiar 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine.
New Audi Q3 Gets a Major Design Update
The new Audi Q3 looks noticeably different from the outgoing model. Up front, it gets a larger Singleframe grille positioned between slimmer headlamps, while the bonnet and shoulder lines have been given sharper contours.
At the rear, Audi has added a full-width lighting element along with digital OLED tail lamps. The illuminated Audi rings will be available on higher-end versions, giving the SUV a more premium look.
The Matrix LED headlamps also get micro-LED modules, while each daytime running light uses 23 individual segments. Audi is clearly leaning into its latest lighting technology with the new Q3.

Cabin Gets One of the Biggest Changes
Inside, the new Q3 receives a much more substantial redesign. One of the most noticeable changes is the relocation of the gear selector from the centre console to the steering column.
This frees up space between the front seats for additional storage. Audi has also separated the controls for lighting and wipers, while the dashboard follows the brand’s newer digital design language.
Acoustic glass for the front windows is also offered to help reduce road and outside noise, adding to the more upmarket cabin experience.
More Flexible Interior and Boot Space
The new Audi Q3 offers 488 litres of luggage space in its standard configuration. Fold the rear seats down and that figure increases to 1,386 litres.
The second-row seats can slide forwards or backwards, while adjustable backrests allow passengers to balance rear-seat comfort and luggage space depending on the situation.
Depending on the variant and specification, the new Q3 can also tow up to 2,100 kg.
2.0-Litre Turbo-Petrol Expected for India
For the Indian market, the new Audi Q3 is expected to retain the 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine. The current output is around 204 hp and 320 Nm.
A seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox and Quattro all-wheel-drive system are also expected to continue. Audi has not indicated any major change to this familiar India-spec powertrain combination.
Globally, however, the Q3 gets a broader range of powertrain options. Audi has introduced a plug-in hybrid version for the first time, featuring a 25.7 kWh battery and up to 119 km of WLTP-rated electric range. The system supports DC charging at up to 50 kW.
International markets will also get four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines, including a 148 hp TFSI with mild-hybrid technology.

Suspension and Driver Assistance Upgraded
Audi has also worked on the Q3’s chassis and driver-assistance technology. International versions can be equipped with standard, sport or two-valve damper suspension, depending on the chosen configuration.
The SUV gets upgraded adaptive cruise control and lane-assistance functions. Its parking system can also remember complex parking manoeuvres and repeat them later, which could make tight urban parking considerably easier.
An interior camera monitors the driver for signs of fatigue and distraction, adding another layer to the SUV’s safety and assistance package.
New Audi Q3 Rivals BMW X1 and Mercedes-Benz CLA
Once launched in India, the new Audi Q3 will continue to take on established premium compact SUVs such as the BMW X1 and Mercedes-Benz CLA. Its redesigned cabin, sharper styling and expanded technology package will be key areas to watch when Audi officially announces India-specific variants, features and pricing.
With the launch scheduled for October, more details about the India-spec Audi Q3, including its exact equipment list and pricing, are expected closer to the market debut.
