India’s historic ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 triumph has now been followed by a special off-field reward. Each player from the championship-winning Indian women’s cricket team will receive a brand-new Tata Sierra, marking a rare and symbolic gesture from the homegrown auto major.
The announcement came days after India defeated South Africa in the final at DY Patil Stadium, Navi Mumbai, clinching the World Cup on November 2, 2025. On November 6, Tata Motors confirmed that every squad member would be gifted a Tata Sierra of their choice, celebrating both sporting excellence and the comeback of one of Tata’s most iconic nameplates.
Tata Sierra gift for World Cup-winning Indian women’s team
The Tata Sierra was officially launched in India on November 25, 2025, just weeks after India’s title win. The SUV, which revives the legendary Sierra badge from the 1990s, is positioned as a premium lifestyle offering in Tata’s portfolio.

For the Indian women’s cricket team, the gift carries added meaning. It not only recognises their landmark World Cup victory but also aligns with Tata’s long-standing association with Indian sports and women achievers.
Tata Sierra design: Modern, boxy and nostalgic
The all-new Tata Sierra blends retro inspiration with a modern SUV stance. It retains the boxy, muscular silhouette that made the original Sierra instantly recognisable. The curved, blacked-out rear windows also make a comeback, paying homage to the classic model.
Beyond that, everything feels fresh. At the front, the Sierra gets sleek connected LED DRLs with integrated turn indicators. These sit above a split headlamp setup with LED projector units and LED fog lamps. The rear features connected LED tail-lamps, Sierra badging and a prominent Tata logo.
Flush door handles, faux skid plates and large 19-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels complete the premium, contemporary look.
Tata Sierra features: Tech-loaded and comfort-focused
Inside, the Tata Sierra goes heavy on tech and comfort. The top-spec variant features a triple-screen layout – a digital driver’s display, a central infotainment touchscreen and a separate screen for the front passenger. Lower trims get a dual-screen setup.
Key features include powered and ventilated seats with boss mode, a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control and a JBL sound system. The cabin follows a light, white-themed design and comes with a four-spoke steering wheel, auto-dimming IRVM and an electronic parking brake with auto-hold.
Overall, the Sierra’s interior is clearly aimed at buyers who want a premium, lounge-like feel rather than a bare-bones SUV experience.
Tata Sierra engine options and transmissions
The Tata Sierra offers three engine options to suit different driving needs. Buyers can choose between a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol, a more powerful 1.5-litre Hyperion turbo-petrol, and a 1.5-litre Kryojet diesel engine.

The NA petrol engine produces 106 PS and 145 Nm of torque. The turbo-petrol unit delivers a stronger 160 PS and 255 Nm, while the diesel engine puts out 118 PS and 280 Nm of torque.
Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed torque converter automatic and a 7-speed DCT, depending on the variant and engine.
Tata Sierra price in India
While Tata Motors has positioned the Sierra as a premium offering, its pricing keeps it competitive in the mid-size SUV segment. The Tata Sierra is priced in the range of ₹18 lakh to ₹25 lakh (ex-showroom), depending on variant and powertrain.
With this gesture, Tata Motors has not only celebrated a landmark sporting achievement but also put the spotlight back on one of its most iconic SUVs—this time in the hands of India’s World Cup-winning women.
