Tata Motors is set to unveil the refreshed Tata Punch facelift in India today, January 13, bringing a sharper look and a longer feature list to its best-selling micro-SUV. Prices are expected to start at around ₹5.5 lakh and go up to ₹9.24 lakh (ex-showroom), keeping the Punch firmly positioned as an affordable entry-level SUV despite the updates.
The facelifted Punch has already started arriving at dealerships ahead of the official launch, giving a clear idea of what buyers can expect in terms of design, tech and safety upgrades.
Tata Punch facelift: Expected price range
The updated Punch is likely to see a slight premium over the outgoing model. Industry estimates suggest a starting price of about ₹5.5 lakh, with top variants touching ₹9.24 lakh (ex-showroom). Tata’s strategy appears focused on offering more features without pushing the car out of reach for first-time SUV buyers.

Tata Punch facelift: Engine and transmission
Under the hood, the Punch facelift will continue with the familiar 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine from the current lineup. Alongside this, Tata Motors is expected to introduce a new turbo-petrol option, though official performance figures are yet to be revealed. Transmission choices will include a 5-speed manual and an AMT, similar to the existing model.

One of the biggest highlights of the facelift is the upgraded cabin tech. The Punch now gets a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, paired with a 7-inch digital instrument cluster. New additions also include a 360-degree camera, hill descent control, automatic climate control, cruise control, a 6-speaker sound system, keyless entry with push-button start and a single-pane sunroof.
Safety has been significantly strengthened, with six airbags offered as standard across all variants. The micro-SUV also gets ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, rear parking camera and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
Tata Punch facelift: Exterior design changes
Visually, the 2026 Punch facelift adopts Tata’s newer design language. Up front, it features slimmer LED DRLs, a refreshed grille and redesigned bumpers. New LED headlights add to the updated look. While the side profile remains largely unchanged, the Punch now rides on new 16-inch alloy wheels. At the rear, connected LED taillamps and a revised bumper give it a more modern finish.

Tata Punch facelift: Interior updates
Inside, the overall dashboard layout stays familiar but gets several noticeable updates. The facelift introduces a new two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo, along with fresh dual-tone seat upholstery in grey and blue. The air-conditioning controls have been redesigned too, now using a touch-based interface with physical toggles for ease of use.
With its official launch happening today, the Tata Punch facelift is expected to strengthen Tata Motors’ grip on the micro-SUV segment, especially among buyers looking for a stylish, feature-packed and safety-focused small SUV at an accessible price point.
