On Thursday, Ujjain police nabbed four more suspects. According to IG Santosh Kumar Singh, five auto drivers were seized and interrogated based on CCTV footage from the previous 72 hours. The SIT examined the accused, Bharat Soni, who admitted to the crime. The perpetrator was apprehended, and the victim’s blood-stained garments were found.
IG Santosh Kumar Singh stated that the police examined technical evidence, including footage from CCTV cameras in several regions because the underage girl was unable to make her testimony. ‘The accused saw the minor girl alone on Monday morning and offered her a lift,’ claimed the IG. He then led him to a desolate location. The accused raped her at Jeevankhedi village. After that, he abandoned her and fled.
Later, another car deposited the woman in a residential area, where she went door to door for aid for two and a half hours until she fainted in front of an ashram. When an ashram (gurukul) priest observed her, he offered her clothing and food. Following this, priest Rahul Sharma notified the local police.
‘We found blood stains on the back seat of an autorickshaw, and its owner Rakesh Malviya was held for questioning,’ said IG Singh. During interrogation, we discovered that they had discovered the victim in an injured state and had given her a lift. Malviya, on the other hand, did not notify the police.
The child, a member of Satna’s Chetpura hamlet, went missing from her house in her school uniform on September 24. She arrived in Ujjain by train and requested rides from various autorickshaw drivers, but she had no idea where she was going. She then got into the car of accused Bharat Soni, who drove her to Jeevankhedi and raped her.
The police claimed it was unclear why the kid had left Satna and travelled to Ujjain. Her father is mentally ill, and her mother has not lived with the family for several years. The young lady shared a home with her grandfather and older brother.
