The registration window for the Uttar Pradesh Bachelor of Education Joint Entrance Examination (UP BEd JEE) 2026 has officially opened today, February 10. The state Higher Education Department confirmed that eligible candidates can apply online through the official website bujhansi.ac.in for admission to the two-year BEd programme for the 2026–28 academic session.
For the fourth year in a row, Bundelkhand University, Jhansi will conduct the entrance examination, which remains one of the largest teacher education admission processes in North India.
Application Fee Revised for 2026
This year, candidates will have to pay a higher application fee. As per the revised structure approved by the university, General, OBC and candidates from other states—including SC and ST applicants outside Uttar Pradesh—will now pay ₹1,650, an increase of ₹250 from last year. For SC and ST candidates belonging to Uttar Pradesh, the application fee has been fixed at ₹850.
The counselling registration fee has also been raised. Candidates qualifying for the exam will now have to pay ₹850 for counselling, up from ₹750 last year.
Over 2.40 Lakh BEd Seats on Offer
UP BEd JEE 2026 will open the door to more than 2.40 lakh BEd seats across nearly 2,300 affiliated and constituent colleges under various state universities. With teaching remaining a popular career choice, officials expect heavy participation again, following last year’s turnout of over 3.44 lakh applicants.

Candidates planning to appear for UP BEd JEE 2026 should keep a close watch on the timeline. Online applications will remain open till March 10, 2026. The entrance exam is scheduled to be held between April 20 and April 25, while results are expected between May 25 and May 30. The counselling process will run from June 1 to June 25, and the new academic session is likely to begin on July 1, 2026.
Exam Pattern and Selection Process
The entrance exam will consist of two papers, each carrying multiple-choice questions. Candidates will get three hours to complete each paper. Admission to BEd colleges will be strictly based on merit, with rank lists prepared category-wise and state-wise. Only candidates who clear the cut-off will be allowed to participate in the centralized online counselling conducted by Bundelkhand University.
