The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) has officially started the direct recruitment process for 537 posts of Sub-Inspector and Assistant Sub-Inspector across confidential, clerical and accounts roles. The detailed notification was released on the board’s official website, uppbpb.gov.in, giving eligible candidates a clear window to apply online till January 19, 2025.
This recruitment drive is expected to attract a large number of applicants, especially graduates preparing for state-level police and government jobs in Uttar Pradesh.

Post-wise vacancy details
Under the ongoing recruitment, the board will fill a total of 537 vacancies, including:
- 112 posts of Police Sub-Inspector (Confidential)
- 311 posts of Police Assistant Sub-Inspector (Clerk)
- 114 posts of Police Assistant Sub-Inspector (Accounts)
The online application process is active, while the last date for fee payment is also January 19. Candidates will be allowed to make fee-related corrections till January 22.
Eligibility and educational qualification
Candidates applying for SI (Confidential) and ASI (Clerk) posts must hold a graduate degree from a recognised university or institution. In addition, applicants must meet the required typing and technical criteria:
- Hindi typing speed: 25 words per minute
- English typing speed: 30 words per minute
- Mandatory ‘O’ Level certificate from DOEACC/NIELIT
For ASI (Accounts), candidates must meet the educational qualifications specified in the official notification.
Age limit and relaxation
The minimum age for applicants is 21 years, while the maximum age limit is 28 years, calculated as of July 1, 2025. Age relaxation will be applicable for candidates from reserved categories as per Uttar Pradesh government rules.
Application fee
The application fee has been fixed category-wise:
- ₹500 for Unreserved, EWS and OBC candidates
- ₹400 for SC and ST candidates
The fee can be paid online using debit card, credit card, net banking or UPI.
