Dulquer Salmaan portrays a mobster in his recent film, King of Kotha, but it has not been well received by the people.
Fans have seen Dulquer Salmaan’s Malayalam flick King of Kotha for the first time, and not everyone is impressed. Many people rushed to Twitter to offer their thoughts on the gangster drama. Someone described it as a letdown, while another said Dulquer had “hit it out of the park.”
On Twitter, trade expert Manobala Vijaybalan said, “King of DISAPPOINTMENT.” I struggled to keep my interest in the confusing and disconnected plot. Finally stumbled and failed to make an impression. #DulquerSalmaan and the BGM are fantastic.” “#KingOfKotha,” wrote another. The first half was adequate. So far, nothing has surprised me!! The mass constituents are completely packed. Jake’s Bejoy BGM was excellent.” Someone just typed ‘disappointed’ in their tweet, followed by a sobbing emoji.
A few fans praised the film as well, particularly the second half. “2nd Half- #KingOfKotha is A Pakka Gangster Drama Mode For Fans And Film Lovers,” one tweet stated. “King Of Kotha Review: Dulquer Salmaan’s Show” The first act is adequate, but the second act and climax are explosive. Mass action sequences are fantastic. “Once again, dulquer salmaan is on fire,” said another. “#KingOfKotha: A Paisa vasool entertainer with a good amount of mass entertainment and a charming @dulQuer at the centre,” said one reviewer of the film. Nothing fresh in the plot, but the treatment and production work. Shabeer and Nyla provide outstanding performances. A surefire box office success.”
Abhilash Joshiy’s debut feature film, King of Kotha, is a historical drama. It’s Dulquer’s first film after the successful Telugu film Sita Ramam in 2022 and R Balki’s 2022 Hindi thriller Chup: Revenge of the Artist. He also appeared in Raj and DK’s Netflix series Guns and Gulaabs.
Wayfarer Films and Zed Studios are supporting King of Kotha. Shahul Hassan, Nyla Usha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, and Chemban Vinod Jose also appear in the next action drama.
According to Dulquer, “The lasting thing about our gangster films was that they were either some great dramas or they’ve been out-and-out chaotic entertainers.” And when I first read the screenplay, I felt that it had the drama and tale that this genre truly needed all of the characters in the picture, like you can’t tell the same story if you eliminate one character.”
