Izyum is situated on a crucial route that connects Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-largest city, with Sloviansk, a city in the country’s east that Russian forces had been attempting to march on before Kyiv launched its counteroffensive.
India and France renewed demands for talks to end the Russia-Ukraine war
India and France have called for talks to end the violence in Ukraine once more. After a meeting in New Delhi with his French counterpart, Catherine Colonna, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, India’s foreign minister, told reporters: “There should be a restoration to discussion and diplomacy.”
Despite protests about the invasion in the West, particularly from France, India has not officially condemned Moscow’s offensive.
