In a monumental stride towards revitalizing its riverfront, Ayodhya is on the brink of unveiling its very own beach along the banks of the Saryu River. The recent approval from the Uttar Pradesh Housing Department marks a pivotal moment as the local development authority’s proposal to establish a Chowpatty at Ram Ki Paidi gains momentum, promising to redefine leisure and culinary experiences in this historic city.
The Ayodhya Development Authority (ADA) is spearheading this ambitious project, envisioning a vibrant space at Ram Ki Paidi that transcends the mundane and offers an immersive culinary and recreational haven for locals and tourists alike. With meticulous planning, the ADA is laying the groundwork for seamless integration of temporary structures and designated zones for food carts, ensuring not only aesthetic appeal but also the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
A senior official from the authority elaborated on the vision, emphasizing the creation of multiple temporary structures, strategically positioned zones for housing food carts, and covered spots under canopies or pergolas, all carefully curated to enhance the visitor experience at Ram Ki Paidi.

The commencement of construction, facilitated through a tender process, signifies the tangible progress towards realizing this transformative endeavour. The selected agency, tasked with completing the civil works within a six-month timeframe, holds the key to bringing to life the vibrant spirit of the Chowpatty.
With an allocated budget of approximately INR 4.66 crore, the project encompasses a spectrum of essentials ranging from basic infrastructure and sanitation to electrification, firefighting measures, water supply, parking zones, horticulture, and a meticulously paved entry route.
Beyond the structural components, the emphasis lies on ensuring visitor comfort and enjoyment. The designated contractor is mandated to provide seating capacity for a minimum of 50 individuals, fostering an environment where guests can unwind and savour the serene riverside ambience at their leisure. This initiative forms an integral part of the broader plan by the civic body in Ayodhya to revitalize and enhance recreational spaces along the Saryu River, culminating in the transformation of one bank into a bustling ‘Chowpatty.’
With the backing of the Uttar Pradesh Housing Department and the proactive strides taken by the ADA, the development of Ram Ki Paidi as a Chowpatty emerges as a beacon of progress and prosperity for Ayodhya. Anticipation mounts as the city eagerly awaits the unveiling of its very own riverside retreat, poised to capture hearts and create cherished memories for generations to come.
As Ayodhya embarks on this transformative journey, the stage is set for a renaissance in leisure and cultural offerings, firmly cementing its status as a premier destination on India’s tourism map.
