JEE Main 2026: Papers Scheduled on January 28 and 29
As per the official schedule, Paper 1 (BE/BTech) will be held on January 28, while Paper 2 (BArch and BPlanning) is scheduled for January 29, 2026. Exams on both days will be conducted in two shifts.
- Morning shift: 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM
- Afternoon shift: 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM

The entry process at exam centres will follow a strict timeline. Candidates must note that no entry will be permitted after gate closure.
Shift 1 (Morning)
- Reporting begins: 7:00 AM
- Entry & verification: 7:00 AM to 8:30 AM
- Gate closes: 8:30 AM sharp
- Instructions by invigilator: 8:30 AM to 8:50 AM
- Candidate login: 8:50 AM
- Exam time: 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM
Shift 2 (Afternoon)
- Reporting begins: 1:00 PM
- Entry & verification: 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM
- Gate closes: 2:30 PM sharp
- Instructions by invigilator: 2:30 PM to 2:50 PM
- Candidate login: 2:50 PM
- Exam time: 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM
Candidates are strongly advised to reach the centre at least one hour before the gate closing time to complete frisking and verification smoothly.

Important JEE Main 2026 Exam Day Guidelines
The NTA has reiterated a few key instructions that candidates must follow on exam day:
- Visit the exam centre a day in advance to understand the route, travel time, and location.
- Reach the centre well before the reporting time mentioned on the admit card. Late arrivals will not be allowed under any circumstances.
- Write your name and roll number on the rough sheets and return them to the invigilator before leaving the exam hall.
- Fill in the attendance sheet carefully, including signature, left-hand thumb impression, and pasting a passport-size photograph.
- The photograph must be the same as the one uploaded in the application form, and the thumb impression should be clear and unsmudged.
