Mahindra Scorpio N Pickup Spotted Without Camouflage in India, Launch Expected Soon

    Axpertv media google source

Mahindra’s much-awaited Scorpio N Pickup has finally been spotted completely undisguised on Indian roads, giving us the clearest look yet at what could be the brand’s next big lifestyle utility vehicle. After multiple camouflaged test mules over the past few months, this latest sighting confirms that the launch could be just around the corner, likely sometime next year.

Based on the hugely popular Scorpio N SUV, the pickup version carries forward the same tough DNA but adds a practical cargo bed at the rear, making it a strong contender in the growing lifestyle pickup segment.

    Design: Familiar Face, New Attitude

From the front, the Scorpio N Pickup looks almost identical to the Scorpio N SUV introduced in 2022. It carries the same bold road presence that has made the SUV a bestseller.

Up front, you get the dual-barrel headlamp setup, the blacked-out grille with horizontal and chrome vertical slats, and those signature scorpion sting-inspired chrome elements around the fog lamps. The overall stance is upright and muscular — very much in line with Mahindra’s rugged design language.

The real difference starts from the B-pillar onwards. Instead of the regular SUV rear section, the pickup gets a neatly integrated cargo bed. At the back, it features vertically placed rectangular tail lamps with integrated turn indicators and prominent Mahindra badging on the tailgate. The proportions look balanced, and unlike some older pickups, this one doesn’t feel like an afterthought.

Interior & Features: SUV-Like Comfort Inside

Spy shots from the cabin show that Mahindra hasn’t compromised much on interior quality. The dashboard layout looks largely similar to the Scorpio N SUV, which is good news because the SUV’s cabin already feels modern and well laid out.

However, there are a few noticeable changes. The pickup gets an all-black cabin theme with red stitching, giving it a slightly sportier vibe compared to the dual-tone coffee-brown and black theme seen in the standard Scorpio N.

Another visible change is the HVAC panel. While the Scorpio N SUV features two rotary dials, the pickup version gets three rotary dials, which suggests a slightly different climate control layout.

Although the full feature list isn’t officially confirmed yet, it is expected to carry over key elements such as a touchscreen infotainment system, connected car tech, steering-mounted controls, multiple drive modes, and safety features like multiple airbags and electronic stability control.

Engine and Performance: Tried and Tested Powertrains

Under the hood, the Scorpio N Pickup is expected to borrow engines from the Scorpio N SUV lineup.

It is likely to be offered with a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine producing around 200 hp and 380 Nm of torque. For those who prefer diesel — and let’s be honest, most pickup buyers probably will — there could be a 2.2-litre diesel engine generating up to 130 hp and 300 Nm of torque.

Transmission options are expected to include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic. Given Mahindra’s focus on capability, a 4×4 option could also be on the cards, especially for buyers looking at off-road and utility use.

What This Means for the Market

The lifestyle pickup segment in India is slowly gaining attention, especially among buyers who want SUV-like comfort but with added practicality. With the Scorpio N brand name attached to it, Mahindra already has strong recall working in its favour.

If priced smartly, the Scorpio N Pickup could appeal to both urban lifestyle buyers and rural commercial users — a mix Mahindra understands very well.

An official launch timeline hasn’t been announced yet, but with undisguised test models now out in the open, it’s clear that the development phase is nearing completion.

For now, one thing is certain — Mahindra isn’t just building another pickup. It’s trying to turn a proven SUV into a more versatile machine without losing its personality.
