Who exactly is Maa Chandraghanta? The importance of Navratri 2023 Day 3

Maa Chandraghanta is Maa Parvati’s married incarnation. According to Drik Panchang, Maa Mahagauri began decorating her forehead with a half-moon or Chandra after marrying Lord Shiva. As a result, she became known as Goddess Chandraghanta. She is shown with 10 hands, a lotus flower, an arrow, Dhanush, and Japa Mala in her four right hands, and the fifth right hand in Abhaya Mudra, and the fifth left hand in Varada Mudra.

Maa Chandraghanta is the gentle manifestation of Maa Parvati. The sound of the moon and the bell on her forehead are said to drive away all forms of ghosts from her believers. Legend has it that during her struggle with the demons, the sound made by her bell sent thousands of evil demons to the realm of the God of Death.
