Qualcomm is reportedly planning to introduce its new Snapdragon chips on March 18. According to 9To5Google, Qualcomm has posted an image on Chinese social media platform Weibo, announcing a launch event later this month for “New Products under the Snapdragon Brand Name”.
The American semiconductor company has not revealed the products, but it is expected to launch at least two new chips, one in each of the Snapdragon 8 and Snapdragon 7 series. According to media reports, Qualcomm is planning to release the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, which will likely have similar characteristics to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 but be more power efficient.
What You Need To Know About This Launch?
- This chipset will reportedly have a similar architecture to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, which includes the Cortex-X4 core, but chances are there that it may use the Adreno 735 GPU.
- The chipset is said to be paired with 1x 3.01GHz Cortex-X4, 4x 2.61GHz Cortex-A720, and 3x 1.84GHz Cortex-A520 processors.
- Qualcomm may also introduce the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 in this event only.
- This could use a similar architecture, but with one 2.8GHz Cortex-X4, four sub-2.6GHz Cortex-A720, three sub-1.9GHz Cortex-A520 CPUs, and an Adreno 732 GPU.
- The chipset has score 1.5 million on AnTuTu, with GPU performance comparable to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
- Several upcoming flagships, including those from Realme might feature the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip.
- Its expected that the new Realme GT Neo 6 could be the first or one among the first to use the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC
- Moreover, the Realme Neo 6 SE could use the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 (SM7675) SoC.
- Besides Realme, Redmi Note 13 Turbo, upcoming iQOO Neo 9 series phone and Vivo Pad 3 might come with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3.
