The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has officially released the tentative examination calendar for the 2026–27 session, giving lakhs of government job aspirants a much-needed roadmap for the year ahead. As per the schedule, SSC exams will kick off in May 2026 and continue till March 2027, covering recruitment for Class 10, 12 and graduate-level posts across central government departments.
The calendar outlines advertisement dates, application deadlines, and tentative exam months for all major SSC examinations, allowing candidates to plan their preparation in advance.

Major SSC Exams and Expected Timelines
The 2026–27 calendar includes all flagship SSC exams such as CGL, CHSL, MTS, GD Constable, JE, Stenographer, and departmental competitive exams for DoPT.
- SSC CGL 2026: Tier-1 CBT expected in May–June 2026
- SSC JE 2026: Paper 1 CBT scheduled for May–June 2026
- SSC Selection Post Phase-XIV: Exams likely in May–June 2026
- SSC CHSL 2026: Tier-1 exam window set for July–September 2026
- SSC Stenographer 2026: CBT planned for August–September 2026
- SSC MTS & Havaldar 2026: Exams expected between September–November 2026
- SSC SI (Delhi Police & CAPFs) 2026: Paper 1 CBT in October–November 2026
- SSC GD Constable 2027: CBT scheduled for January onwards
Departmental exams for JSA/LDC, SSA/UDC, and ASO grades (DoPT only) will begin early, with advertisements in March 2026 and exams in May 2026.
Who Can Apply?
SSC conducts these exams to recruit candidates who have passed Class 10, Class 12, or graduation, depending on the post. Selections are made for various ministries, departments, and central government organisations across India.
