TDP head N Chandrababu Naidu has been detained in connection with a 317 crore alleged fraud at the Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation.
N Chandrababu Naidu, leader of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, was arrested today and sent to Vijayawada on corruption charges.
During his term, the TDP head was detained in connection with an alleged 317-crore scandal at the Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation. During the TDP regime, the organization was founded to equip youth with skill training.
Following high drama after midnight, Mr Naidu was brought into prison early this morning by investigators from the Andhra Pradesh Criminal Investigation Department.
The detectives arrived at a function hall in Nandyal late last night and handed Mr Naidu with an arrest order. However, they were unable to arrest him because the TDP chief’s followers protested.
A brief brawl also erupted between officers and Mr Naidu’s supporters. Mr Naidu claims that officers have no proof. “Show me where I can find my name.” “How can they arrest me if there is no basic evidence?”
During the confrontation, TDP supporters are heard asking cops questions, and the cops are heard insisting that they have proof and that the remand report has everything.
M Dhanunjayudu, senior officer of the CID’s Economic Offences Wing, stated in the notice given to Mr Naidu, “It is to notify you that you have been arrested… at 6 am at R K Function Hall, Gnanapuram, H/o Moolasagaram, Nandyala town and it is not subject to bail offense.”
The former Chief Minister has been charged with criminal conspiracy, cheating and fraudulently inducing property delivery, and 465. The Corruption Prevention Act has also been invoked.
Following his detention, Mr Naidu said on his official X account that “no force on earth can stop me from serving Telugu people.”
“I have selflessly served the Telugu people for the past 45 years.” I am willing to give my life to protect the interests of the Telugu people. “Nothing on Earth can prevent me from serving the Telugu people, my #AndhraPradesh, and my motherland,” the message said.

Mr. Naidu’s detention comes just days after he said he would be arrested shortly. “They could arrest me today or tomorrow,” the TDP head stated at a public meeting in Anantapur district. They could even assault me. They will commit numerous crimes.”
