A video showing Aam Aadmi Party minister Rajendra Pal Gautam attending a ceremony at Delhi’s Ambedkar Bhavan on October 5 where almost 10,000 Hindus converted to Buddhism has prompted the BJP to call for his resignation.

As guests swear not to worship to Hindu deities including Vishnu, Shiva, Brahma, Rama, Krishna, Gauri, and Ganpati, Gautam can be seen on stage.

These are a few of the 22 pledges that B. R. Ambedkar made his disciples take. At the “diksha samaroh” occasion, Gautam, the head of the Delhi government’s Social Welfare, SC/ST Welfare, Registrar of Cooperatives, and Gurudwara Elections ministries, is seen reciting the promises.

The BJP claimed that the “conversion” ceremony was an attempt to sow discord in the community. Manoj Tiwari, a member of the Delhi BJP, went so far as to label it a planned attempt to incite rioting. “This is Arvind Kejriwal’s anti-Hindu image, who is attempting to divide and govern the city,” someone said.

Buddhists are non-violent people, but the AAP minister’s actions are an effort to incite enmity in the neighborhood, the man claimed.

In response, Gautam asserted that such remarks demonstrated the BJP’s anti-national mindset. “What’s wrong with it if I practice Buddhism? The BJP is free to complain if they choose. We are allow to practice whichever religion we choose thanks to the Indian Constitution. He claimed that the BJP is slipping behind and is wary of the Aam Aadmi Party.

Additionally, he asked the BJP if it had any additional problems to discuss with the media. In the guise of caste and religion, it seeks to sow discord among people. It doesn’t discuss unemployment, even though Dalits are frequently assault. I appreciate Mohan Bhagwat ji for recognizing this issue and stating that it poses a threat to the nation.

Details On The Matter

“Everyone in the nation is free to practice their religious convictions. We ought to respect one another’s convictions… Only selected segments of the video are being used. This event was put on by the Buddhist Society of India, which Baba Saheb Ambedkar established; it was not a political agenda. Since 1956, this has occurred every year. Every year, this occurs throughout the nation. When taking deeksha, you discuss mankind rather than any one faith. BJP leaders need to think clearly first. Please carefully read all 22 vows. Nobody from the party (AAP) has said anything disparaging against Hindus, he claimed.

In response to the video, BJP spokesman Harish Khurana said: “This shows the Aam Aadmi Party’s dishonesty. Arvind Kejriwal never gets bored of shouting Jai Shri Ram and Jai Shri Krishna in the state where elections are held. But after it’s finish, their true nature—which involves mistreating Hindu gods and goddesses—is reveal.

Both the Delhi administration and the Aam Aadmi Party remained silent about the development.
