Reports says Apple is planning a system-wide rebranding from ‘Apple ID’ to ‘Apple Account’. This is because this will reflect the account’s functionality in a better way. The renaming of “Apple ID” to “Apple Account” might be officially public this year.
About Apple ID:
Apple ID id use to access services such as iCloud and the App Store, etc. Apple users use their dedicated Apple Account to login into these services. If you are an android user and thinking ‘What an Apple ID is?’
An Apple Id is as same as Google Account ID use to login Android Services like Play Store etc.
According to Mark Gurman’s latest newsletter, Apple’s plan to rebrand Apple ID to Apple Account might be officially announce in late 2024, along with major software updates such as iOS 18 and watchOS 11.
Gurman says, “Apple may announce this change at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June, giving developers time to update their apps before the release.” While the reason for this is unclear yet, but reports says, “Apple Account” is a more straightforward and descriptive name than “Apple ID.”
The removal of the familiar “Apple ID” that has been in use for over two decades will have a significant impact on users. But seems this new name reflect the account’s functionality and the broad range of services it offers in a better way.
Apple Update: iOS 18
The WWDC is approaching toward the new updates and all eyes are on Apple for this new OS update, iOS 18. Moreover, iOS 18 is expected to include a slew of new features, including an AI upgrade dubbed “Project Graymatter.” And this will also improve the functionality of the iPhone by adding the extensive suite of AI features and services. iOS 18 may addon more than just adding AI features, says Gurman.
Apple iOS 18 and won’t be content to just focus on AI features. This long-term plan will integrate AI across all of Apple’s devices is hinted at by the company’s recent acquisition of the Canadian AI startup DarwinAI.

It’s also speculated that iOS 18, codename is “Crystal” and it will drastically alter the user interface with circular icons, translucent UI elements, and revamped control center. Well these are just a few of the visual elements rest are yet to announce.
