Asian Kabaddi Championship 2023: The Indian men’s kabaddi squad will compete in the Asian Kabaddi Championship 2023, which will be held from June 27 to 30 in Busan, Republic of Korea.
After a six-year absence, the continental championship returns for four days. The previous iteration was conducted in 2017 in Gorgan, Iran. All kabaddi tournament matches will be live broadcast in India.

The Asian Kabaddi Championship 2023 will feature six countries: India, Iran, the Republic of Korea, Japan, Chinese Taipei, and Hong Kong.
The Indian men’s kabaddi squad will begin their campaign against Korea on Tuesday, following the tournament opening between Iran and Chinese Taipei earlier in the day.
The Asian Kabaddi Championship 2023 will be played in a single-leg round-robin style, with the top two teams from the league phase meeting in the final on July 30.
The defending champions, the Indian men’s kabaddi team, will compete in the competition. In the 2017 final, India defeated Pakistan 36-22.
India has been the most successful men’s team in the Asian Kabaddi Championship since its start in 1980, winning seven titles in eight seasons. Iran won the 2003 event, which was held in Kangar, Malaysia.
India has selected a 12-man kabaddi team for the Busan meeting, that includes some of the best players from the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL).
Arjun Deshwal, the top raider in the last PKL season, will lead the Indian offensive with seasoned raiders like Naveen Kumar and Pawan Sehrawat. The participation of Sunil Kumar, Parvesh Bhainswal, Surjeet Singh, and Nitesh Kumar would strengthen India’s defenses.
Meanwhile, Iran’s kabaddi team will be missing renowned defender Fazel Atrachali.
The Asian Kabaddi Championship 2023 is scheduled to serve as a warm-up for the Asian Games, which will be held from September 23 to October 8 in Hangzhou, China.
