IRCTC also relayed this information via its official Twitter handle, underlining the technical nature of the issue, and assured consumers that their devoted staff at CRIS (Centre for Railway Information Systems) was working hard to resolve the situation. While the IRCTC website and app were down, other B2C businesses, such as Amazon and MakeMyTrip, were offering alternate ticket purchase alternatives.
