Orange Cap in IPL 2024: In the ongoing IPL 2024, following the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) vs Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) match on March 30, former RCB captain Virat Kohli has risen to the top of the Orange cap holder list. The former captain, Kohli, won the Orange Cap in 2016. This season, he hopes to repeat that performance.

Top 10 Runners up of Orange Cap in IPL 2024

  1. Virat Kohli of the Royal Challenge Bangalore overcame Heinrich Klaasen of Sunrisers Hyderabad to take the lead. With an average of 90 and a strike rate of 141, Kohli has earned 181 runs. After batting out the innings, Kohli smashed an unbeaten 83* in 59 deliveries, smacking four fours and four sixes. 
  2. Klaasen, previously ranked first, is now at second position. He has totalled 143 runs at an average of 143 and a strike rate 226. 
  3. Riyan Parag of the Rajasthan Royals, who was once ranked as the top scorer after hitting an incredible 84 not out off 45 balls in the match between RR and DC, is now at number three. At a strike rate of 171 and an average of 127, Parag has already scored 127 runs. 
  4. Sanju Samson, Rajasthan Royals captain, is at rank fourth with 97 runs and a strike rate of 146. 
  5. Abhishek Sharma of Sunrisers Hyderabad has amassed 95 runs with a strike rate 226. He averaged 47 in the first two games and now holds fifth place. 
  6. Tilak Varma, Mumbai Indians is at sixth position. He has amassed 89 runs with a strike rate of 167 and an average of 44 in the two games he has played so far. 
  7. RCB’s Dinesh Karthik has appeared on the orange cap contenders list. He has amassed 86 runs at an average of 86 and a strike rate of 195.
  8. Sam Curran has scored 86 runs at a strike rate of 134 and an average of 43 through two matches. The English batsman has been instrumental in helping Punjab Kings keep up the run flow during the middle over. 
  9. Shivam Dube, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) is at ninth position. With an average of 85 and a strike rate 166, Dube has amassed 85 runs in just two games. 
  10. After yesterday’s game, Phil Salt of KKR team, appeared on the IPL run-scorers list. He is currently at number 10 with an average of 42, a strike rate of 140, and 84 runs scored.
