Jio just turned nine, and it’s celebrating in the best possible way—by giving users a bunch of freebies and offers. From free data to OTT subscriptions, Jio is rolling out a special ₹349 Celebration Plan and other limited-time perks to mark the milestone.
The company has also crossed a huge landmark—500 million users in India. That’s half a billion people relying on Jio for connectivity, streaming, and payments.
What’s in the ₹349 Celebration Plan?
The highlight of Jio’s 9th-anniversary campaign is its month-long plan priced at ₹349. Here’s what you get if you recharge between September 5 and October 5:
- Unlimited 5G data
- OTT vouchers worth up to ₹3,000 (JioHotstar, JioSaavn, Zomato Gold, and more)
- 2% extra digital gold rewards
- A free two-month JioHome trial
Basically, you’re getting way more than what you’d normally expect from a ₹349 recharge.

Free Data Weekend and Year-Long Offer
Jio isn’t stopping at just one plan. The company has lined up perks across three timelines:
- Anniversary Weekend (Sept 5–7):
– 5G users get unlimited free data.
– 4G users can unlock unlimited data (3GB/day FUP) via a ₹39 add-on. - Anniversary Year:
– If you recharge with ₹349 every month for 12 months, Jio will give you the 13th month free.
And if you’re on a different plan, don’t worry—spend ₹100 on an add-on, and you can still unlock most of these benefits.
JioHome Anniversary Plan
Alongside mobile perks, Jio is also offering a ₹1,200 JioHome plan that includes:
- Two months of unlimited broadband at 30 Mbps
- Over 1,000 live TV channels
- Access to 12+ OTT apps
- Amazon Prime Lite subscription
- Jio Gold benefits
It’s clearly designed as an all-in-one digital pack for homes.
Akash Ambani’s Note to Users
“Reaching this scale within a single nation is a reflection of how deeply Jio has become a part of everyday life,” said Akash Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Jio.
He added that Jio’s mission will continue with even greater focus—“bringing the best technology into the hands of hundreds of millions of Indians, making it accessible, meaningful, and transformative.”

Why This Matters
Since its launch in 2016, Jio has completely changed how Indians use the internet—making voice calls free, making video streaming mainstream, and powering digital payments. Today, Jio supports Aadhaar, UPI, Jan Dhan, DBT, and even India’s booming startup ecosystem.
With 5G rolling out at record speed, Jio’s 9th anniversary isn’t just about freebies—it’s a reminder of how far India’s digital journey has come.
