The 2024 Kia Sonet facelift will continue to offer three engines: an 83hp, 1.2-litre petrol engine; a more powerful 120hp, 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine; and a strong 116hp, 1.5-litre diesel engine. These engines are likely to keep their present gearbox pairings, which comprise a 5-speed manual for the petrol engine, a 6-speed iMT and 6-speed DCT for the turbo-petrol engine, and a 6-speed iMT and 6-speed AT for the diesel engine.

The Sonet facelift will reportedly have a reprofiled front bumper, a new Kia front grille flanked by LED headlights with fresh sculpting, and reworked 16-inch alloy wheels. The back end will also receive improvements, including a new tailgate design and LED taillights that reach lower, increasing the vehicle’s contemporary look.

The Sonet makeover is slated to have a new digital instrument cluster on the inside. In addition, the inside will be updated with a new upholstery color choice. The dashboard layout and switchgear will also be updated, perhaps incorporating components from the Kia Seltos facelift.

We anticipate that the Kia Sonet facelift will have ADAS as well. This technology was just added to its cousin, the Hyundai Venue.

Despite these enhancements, the Sonet will retain its competitive advantage with a starting price of roughly Rs 8 lakh (ex-showroom). It will continue to compete in its class with the Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, and others.

As the 2018 Kia Sonet facelift’s sale date approaches, Indian buyers are keen to discover how this redesigned small SUV will reinvent driving dynamics and elegance within its class.
