Mahindra XEV 9S Set to Debut on November 27 — Brand’s First 7-Seater All-Electric SUV

Mahindra’s Big Electric Leap: The XEV 9S Is Coming

Mahindra is gearing up to make some serious noise in the EV space. The company has confirmed that its upcoming XEV 9S, a full-size 7-seater electric SUV, will make its global debut on November 27 at the brand’s ‘Scream Electric’ event in Bengaluru.

This new SUV is not just another electric makeover — it’s Mahindra’s first born-electric 7-seater, built entirely on the company’s new INGLO skateboard platform. That means it’s designed from scratch for electric power, not adapted from a petrol or diesel model.

Built from the Ground Up for Electrification

Unlike traditional ICE conversions, the Mahindra XEV 9S has been engineered as a true EV. Its flat-floor cabin offers a lot more room and flexibility inside, making it perfect for big families or long road trips. Mahindra says the SUV delivers a “live large” experience — and from the looks of it, that’s exactly what buyers can expect.

The skateboard architecture gives the SUV a low center of gravity and balanced handling while maximizing cabin and luggage space. Expect features like sliding second-row seats, adjustable headrests, and a focus on all-round comfort — something Mahindra seems keen to push as a selling point.

Design and Interior Tech

Visually, the XEV 9S appears heavily inspired by the XUV.e8 concept and the XUV700. Test mules spotted earlier showed off a bold front fascia, futuristic LED lighting, and a muscular stance.

Inside, Mahindra is expected to pack the cabin with premium features — a triple-screen setup, panoramic sunroof, ventilated and powered seats, automatic climate control, and a multifunction steering wheel. It’s also likely to feature Level 2 ADAS, which adds to safety and convenience.

Range, Battery Options, and Charging

The XEV 9S will reportedly come with two battery options, similar to the packs seen in the XEV 9e and BE 6 models. Mahindra is targeting a range of over 500 km on a single charge — a sweet spot for long-distance EV drivers in India.

It’s also expected to support DC fast charging and bidirectional charging, letting users power devices or even send electricity back to the grid.

A New Milestone for Mahindra EVs

The launch of the XEV 9S will mark a full year since Mahindra showcased its future EV concepts — and this time, it’s bringing one of them to life. Positioned as a flagship electric family SUV, it will take on upcoming rivals from Tata, Hyundai, and BYD in India’s fast-growing EV market.

With bold design, long range, and true 7-seater practicality, the Mahindra XEV 9S could become a major player in India’s next-gen electric SUV lineup.
