Mirage to Premiere on SonyLIV This Diwali
Asif Ali and Aparna Balamurali’s latest Malayalam crime thriller Mirage is all set to make its OTT debut. The film, directed by Jeethu Joseph, will start streaming on SonyLIV from October 20, just in time for Diwali.
After hitting theatres on September 19, Mirage received mixed reviews and couldn’t quite make a splash at the box office. But now, with its OTT release, the makers are hoping the film will find a wider audience among Malayalam cinema lovers across India.

SonyLIV has confirmed that Mirage will be available in Malayalam, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Marathi, and Bengali, allowing viewers to enjoy the thriller in their preferred language.
The streaming platform teased the release on social media with the caption, “Every story hides a secret. This one hides many.” Fans are already buzzing about the movie’s second life on OTT, with many praising the intriguing storyline and strong performances.
A Deep Dive into the Plot
The story revolves around Abhirami (Aparna Balamurali), who is searching for her missing fiancé Kiran (Hakim Shahjahan). As she teams up with investigative journalist Aswin (Asif Ali), they uncover a tangled web of secrets that takes them into darker, more dangerous territory than they ever imagined.
The film blends emotional depth with thrilling suspense — typical of Jeethu Joseph’s storytelling style. The runtime clocks in at 150 minutes, promising a detailed, slow-burn mystery.
