War 2 Makes Its Way to OTT
After a roaring theatrical run, War 2—starring Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR, and Kiara Advani—has finally landed on OTT. The much-awaited spy-action film is now streaming on Netflix from October 9, available in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil.
Netflix announced the premiere on social media with the caption, “Double the rage. Double the rampage. Ready for the War?” Fans flooded the post with excitement and memes, making the film trend across X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram.
A Star-Studded Spy Sequel
Directed by Ayan Mukerji, War 2 continues the saga of Yash Raj Films’ Spy Universe, which includes hits like Pathaan and Tiger Zinda Hai. The film hit theatres on August 14, 2025, and marked Jr NTR’s Bollywood debut, bringing together two of India’s biggest stars for the first time.
Hrithik Roshan reprised his role as Kabir, while Jr NTR played Vikram, a rogue agent with his own moral compass. Kiara Advani joined the action as Kavya, adding depth and drama to the fast-paced story.
Despite massive pre-release buzz, War 2 earned around ₹364.25 crore worldwide, slightly below its predecessor War (2019), which made ₹471 crore.
Hrithik Roshan’s Honest Reflection
Before the OTT release, Hrithik took to Instagram to share a heartfelt note about his journey with Kabir’s character.
He wrote, “Everything seemed so perfect. Like it’s meant to be. A sure shot. No worries, just needed to do my job right… But something was lurking behind that certainty… another voice said, I deserve it, every film doesn’t have to be trauma.”
The post resonated with fans, offering a rare glimpse into the actor’s introspective side.
What’s Next in the YRF Spy Universe?
The film’s post-credit scene teased another exciting chapter—“Alpha”, starring Alia Bhatt, Sharvari Wagh, and Bobby Deol. This expansion confirms YRF’s ambitious plan to build India’s first interconnected cinematic universe of spies, combining thrill, patriotism, and blockbuster action.
